spending day in Malaga

Hi everyone

We're spending 10 days in Nerja at start of June and as we have to leave the apartment at 10am we thought we would spend the day in Malaga. Our flight isn't until 9.30pm but having never spent any time in Malaga itself we need some advice .We don't want to wander too far from train station. Are there plenty of shops in that area to do some window shopping and any decent restaurants?

Thanks

Hi,

It is actually a great idea to spend the day in Málaga.

Málaga centre is lovely, quite compact, and not very far from the train station, around a 15 minutes walk.

Lovely as Nerja is, there are far more shops and restaurants in Málaga city, whose centre, compact as it may be, is much bigger than Nerja itself. You'll be spoilt for choice.

While here you may also want to visit some of the fine museums and buildings that are around. Use the tools here on TA.com to research a bit further, or don't hesitate to place any questions that you might have.

Leave your luggage in the left-luggage at Málaga Maria Zambrano station and enjoy your day (you won't need to be back at the station until around 8pm).

M-Zam station is only ten minutes walk from the centre so you have everything at your disposal - masses to see and do, look back at earlier threads.

This one is excellent for eating suggestions:

The city centre is compact, so you'll be able to see a lot in a day. Get yourselves a copy of 'Footsteps Through the City of Málaga', it's excellent:
