You can get Gibraltar trips from the coastal resorts of Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Fuengirola for around 12€ up. Not sure where to find one in Malaga.

Cordoba and Seville really needs to be by train, as in your other post.

Coach. There is no practicable route by train and there is no railway to Gibraltar in any case.

The closest you can get by scheduled coaches is La Linea. From there you have to walk across the border into GIbraltar and take a local bus into town.

There are scheduled coach services from Malaga to La Linea, it takes 3 hours.

Check www.movelia.es for some information.

The Avanza Portillos bus company runs between Torremolinos, Benalmadena and la Linea.

www.venta.avanzabus.com/compra/busqueda6.jsp

that website is only in Spanish.

An excursion trip might be a better idea if any are available.

Coach excursions. There is also a public service bus to La Linea, which is then a short walk over the border to Gib.

The coastal train line runs Malage to Fuengirola only.

Xplor3r:

You can take the train to Cordoba and Seville. Read Buying Renfe Tickets Online.

Be aware that Gibraltar and the Spanish Government are having problems with each other and the crossing at the border may take some time (several hours I have read).

Thank you everyone for your input.

I will have to check this border crossing issue out. Will the tourist info centres in Malaga have more info on this?

Thanks

Probably not, getting onto Gib. is not usually a problem, and most organised trips usually get back into Spain fairly quickly. When you're on Gib. they will always make you aware if the border crossing back into Spain is subject to delays - last time I was there there was no trouble at all, it tends to depend on current relations between Spain and the UK.

Also make sure you are aware of the different duty free allowances from Gib to Spain. The border police are very hot on people trying to take back too much into Spain.

I wouldn't advise trying to visit Sevilla as a daytrip from Malaga. You're really shortchanging one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. It will be 4 hours of travel even with the high speed train. If I had to choose I'd prefer to base in Sevilla and do daytrips.
