Soho area of Malaga

On our recent trip we never went there, because we hadn't heard of it.

Apparently it is up and coming and the trendy place for someone like me to be seen.

Anyone been there with opinions of the area?

A little oversold at present. Some trendy cafes and a microtheatre but a lot of nothing between them. A good way to walk to the port avoiding the Alameda.

maybe on your next visit things will have picked up but they have been trying for some time.

Trickster

While I dislike graffiti, I do like some of the street art in the Soho district of Málaga. The CAC museum of Contemporary Art sometimes will have some interesting exhibitions.

There is another area in Málaga with a lot of street art. It is Lagunillas near the Plaza de la Merced.

The Soho Area has some street art similar to black grafitti, which is not very good. There is some good art of colorful flowers. Near the CAC Museum there are two tall buildings which have large paintings on their facade, similar to pop art.

In Soho you have the Cruzcampo brewery place https://lafabricadecerveza.com/en/ ,not far from Centro Alameda

I stayed in the Soho area in May this year and as Manzana said, it is an easier walk to the port and beach. But

I wouldn't stay in that area again. I didn't like the streets that were full of parked cars & no atmosphere. Normally stay just at the top end of Larios, just off the square a much nicer area.

We are thinking about staying in an apartment on Alameda Principal. Someone here said something about avoiding the Alameda. Anyone know why? And also, is Soho a deserted area? I read that somewhere, but I wouldn't like that.

Right now there is a lot of construction work on the Alameda due to the new Metro line. There are only a few places where you can cross from one side to the other.
