TV Satellite Switch Over - BBC channels gone

The switch over took place in the early hours of this morning. So far we have lost all BBC channels plus Challenge (the latter is a real tragedy!!!).

According to some experts people with HD sets may still get some BBC channels - can anyone confirm whether this is true?

Many thanks,

The best solution is to ensure that the accommodation has a TV which has an HDMI connector and the flat has wi fi. Then take a computer and connect the two with a HDMI cable (4 euros from a Chinese shop) and watch www.filmon.com.

We had no problem with it today.

P:S:

As far as I know no flat without wi fi will be able to get British TV whatever system is used.

Cable systems excepted.. Possibly.

That's the soaps sorted out Manzana lol, for any other channels that require you to be in the UK, there are several ways round it that i won't go into on here but suffice to say all you need is your good old friend Mr Google or some technical knowledge and you can watch whatever channel you want to wherever you are in the world. - it's simples (as one Meerkat said to the other)

It needn't be the end of the world..... good luck everyone :)

You still can't do it without an internet connection. I used to use one free VPN which had a catch up with I Payer etc but that is now a pay one and I couldn't find another so as far as I know Filmon is your best bet. And you can use it anywhere in the world.

Oh of course, but you mentioned wifi so didn't see a need to mention it again :) Most rentals or homes have wifi now anyway. I agree, Filmon (although limited) will give you the essentials, other than that you'll need to go down the I Player route with a VPN / Expat Shield.. but as i say, Google will provide anyone that's interested all the necessary info .... Still seems "on" up in Benidorm at the moment though ....

Central, Northern & Eastern Spain are not affected and are still getting the BBC channels. ITV & CH4 will be gone on the CdS by tomorrow morning too:-

Anyone tried using a NOW TV box and an IP mask yet? ;-)

NOW TV boxes are only a tenner.

Everything on BBC iPlayer and 4od is available, and ITVPlayer is coming soon....
