Warning One Way Van Hire

There is a company based in Malaga called One Way Van Hire which friends of mine have used last month to move house and the company are refusing to return their deposit.

I have read (now its to late) about this company and simlar stories of them keeping deposits when there is no need to.

Just wanted to put another warning out there incase anyone is thinking or using them.

I had exactly the same experience with one way van hire from malaga .

I rented a vehicle from them thenitmturned out not to be road worthy. He has still not paid the 250 euro deposit and when questioned gives a cock and bull story that the deposit is paid within two weeks into your bank account its a lie.

Beware this man is a criminal . Do not use this company . Beware!

Hi expats wanting to use a one way van hire from spain! What ever you do do not use this company . The owner of the company is a crook we hired a van with them to take our possesion to The uk from Spain . The paper work for the van was not legit the contract between us. Was not worth the paper it was written on and one year later we are still trying to get our deposit of 250 euros back . When trying to communicate with the owner jermey a self absorbed pseudo toff he givee you a sob story about him trying to run a buisness and cannot be responsible for everything! The guy is a real fake and a flake . He left the hired van on our property in england for ten days before picking it up .

Be warned !

Unfortuantly, I am reading this now. On July 2012 I recieved a budget from One Way Van Hire, and I decided to rent a van from them from Seville to Dublin. I book my ferry and then the budget went up 58%. I couldn´t say no, because I would have loose the money of the ferry... The van arrived and the oil and brake warning lights were on, the driver told me not to worry, everything was ok except the lights...

In the middle of France, the van broke down, and the substittute van was much smaller, so I had to left 11 boxes full of books and personal and irreplaceable stuff, JEREMY told me I will have everything in Dublin by mid September.

After many ignored mails and calls, I told Jeremy that he would not get the van, and he would have to go to court to get it, so under the promise that I would get my boxes by mid November and the deposit in cash given by the "new" client that was coming to Dublin, I give the van... Of course JEREMY is a LIAR, and a thief, because he told me that this new client will have the opportunity to see my boxes in his office in Midlands (England) but this man told me later that the boxes were not there and the people in the office told him they were inside a van that was in a garage under some repairs..., and now he dont answer any of my mails, and of course I still dont have my boxes, and probably never will.

BE CAREFULL, YOU CAN NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY, THIS PEOPLE OR THE VEHICLES.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. At least now, if it's any comfort, you have TripAdvisor at your fingertips to use as a research tool prior to any future trips you may take :)

If you feel he still has property belonging to you (although this is not the correct forum to discuss this) why do you not contact the police? That is classed as theft.

I would contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau ASAP!!

HI everyone, I would like to add to the comments above. We have just had a NIGHTMARE with this company. Unfortunately we didn't see these comments until it was too late. We were shipping about 5.5 cubic metres of stuff from Malaga to Ireland and we were guaranteed 3-7 days delivery by an agent of theirs called Stephen Matthew. He passed our stuff on to One Way Van Hire who then dumped it in a warehouse for 6 weeks claiming that we never said it was urgent. My entire office was in those boxes not to mention all the other stuff, which is why we agreed to go with them. We could not afford to be without the stuff for more than 14 days. Jeremy is a completely ignorant and arrogant individual who will not listen and just keeps on spouting crap. Our boxes finally turned up 8 weeks later and we only got them at all because someone else in the same situation hired a van and went to rescue his own stuff and picked ours up too. It was not stored in a secure warehouse, but rather in the back room of a PRIVATE DWELLING. Communication was horrendous and service was absolutely dreadful. The boxes arrived in very poor condition (I have photos) and overall I would urge anyone thinking about using this company to NOT DO IT.

I am going through a nightmare with this so called business. I hired a rickety, unroadworthy, gas guzzling van in January this year and paid 350 euros deposit, but as I was leaving Spain I closed the Spanish bank account and I asked Jeremy not to refund the deposit back onto the card but gave full details of the English account I wanted it returned to, I have all the emails saying the details had been received. Of course after hundreds of emails and calls this rude, arrogant, ignorant person who refuses to listen and take responsibility and just speaks over you, is saying he put the money back onto the card i paid with and nothing can be done!! Well something needs to be done about these cowboys. I urge you, please, please do not hire from these people. I can't understand how they are stil trading.
