anywhere with a promenade?

Would like to stay on Costa de la Luz at the beginning of September and need advice on where to base ourselves. We'll have a car and will be sightseeing in the mornings but would like to stay in a village/resort that has a promenade or an "old town" we can walk round after our evening meal. Would be grateful for any suggestions.

There is a lovely promenade along the beachfront at La Barossa, their are apartments and villas for let closeby also some lovely little restaurants, cafes and bars. If you have the car then Novo Sancti Petri may be a good base for you, the prom and car park being only a few minutes away by car, alternatively if you want somewhere in town but again only 5 or so minutes from the beach you could consider Chiclana de la Frontera itself. Pago del Humo is a little further away (located on the inland side of the autovia) but still only 15 minutes by car (not my favourite but choice is very personal).

Thank you very much for your advice. I have booked an apartment near Barossa beach, which looks stunning. It's good to know that there are lots of eating places nearby as well.

La Barossa is stunning and there are lots of walks, beside the prom........the only thing is there is no real centre to the resort but there are lots of restaurants, won't recommend any as we all have personal tastes......Further on in the old port of Sancti Petri there are a few nice fish places, but these are only open for lunch. Will miss my trip to Barossa this year after spending many years vacating there in Sept. (Im off to Matalascanas further west along the coast)....I know you will love it..........
