Warnemunde cruise port car rental

We are looking to rent a car for 2 days 6/22 until 6/23 we are overnight in this port. Is there a preferred rental company that was easy to deal with and also reasonable priced?

We just cruised to Warnemunde last month and rented out car from Hertz. It was very easy. We booked ahead through Hertz international online. The tiny Hertz rental site was directly across the street from where the cruise docked. You can just ask a port officer once you get off the ship. It is very easy! You do not have to travel to Rostock to get a car.

We decided not to go to Berlin and drove to Schwerin Castle. It was amazing with a really great small town. Stayed in the Best Western there which was off the beaten path, but on a lake, and was nice and quaint. In Schwerin, we felt like we were the only Americans! Maybe Americans don't make the trek frequently. We had an authentic German time! On the way back to Warnemunde we took the long way through the countryside, rather than the autobahn. It was beautiful with farms with both new and traditional windmills to see. We stopped at several small towns that were worth exploring to see some authentic Germany and get some Bratwurst! Wismar was a nice stop to have lunch in the center of the cobblestone square. Heading back towards Rostock we stopped in Bad Doberan and toured the large church there that has the oldest altar in art history. Amazingly well preserved Christian artifacts. Our adventures left us little time when we arrived back to Warnemunde, but driving through town and along the coast looked amazing. Nice big beach with lots of shops and things to do. If you are only in port a day, save money on excursions and just explore that little gem.

If you do rent a car...it is so easy at this port so don't worry. Also, the German roads are well marked and the map was easy to follow. We didn't need GPS once. Hope this helps and happy travels!
