Some of my personal must sees are

Zitadelle Spandau

Schloß Charlottenburg

Kurfürstendamm and Kaiser-Wilhelm-Memorial Church

Brandenburg Gate

a walk from Unter den Linden to Alexanderplatz walking past the Staatsoper, Palast der Republik, Berliner Dom and many other sights

Holocaust Memorial

Postdamer Platz

Neue Synagogo

Pergamon Museum

Jüdische Museum

Hackesche Höfe

There is so much more to see but right now I can't think of more ... despite living in the city for years. Guess it's too late in the evening already. If I can think of more I'll let you know.

You could do for example a walking tour with Brewers, I did one earlier this year when I had friends visiting and quite liked the tour.

Basically just have a wander around ... the nicest places you'll just stumble across when not expecting it.

I would recommend to start with a walking tour, e.g.

Afterwards you'll have at least some ideas for the next days.

With 4 days I would also recommend a trip to Potsdam.

Day 1

To have a good idea and stay in Berlin, I would recommend the walk-tours at 10am or 2pm. There are many agencies offering the walk tours for 3 hrs. From Zoologischer Garten, they whisk you off to Alexanderplatz, Unter den Linden. I do recommend this to all my firt-time Berlin visitors.

Day 2

I would recommend a museum day starting with Checkpoint Charlie, then walk to the Jewish Museum and visit the new extension which was conceived by Daniel Liebeskind, the architect who is to plan the new WTO. Museum island is worth a visit, and if you are in Berlin on a Thursday, entrance is free from 6-10pm, but not all museums, check the websites.

Day 3

Potsdam with Sansouci is a whole day tour.

Have fun in Berlin, email me if you would need more info.
