Nurnberg Question

Hi. My husband and I will fly home from Nurnberg, so we need to be close to the airport or city on out last night. However, I was wondering if there's a small town near by that would provide us a more homey experience than simply staying at a Nurnberg hotel. We would love to stay at a Bauerhof if possible, if not, at a pension or something informal like that. I've heard about Neuhaus an her Pegnitz, Erlangen, and more recently, Rosstal. Would these be a good alternative to Nurnber proper, which we'll see when we come to Germany? Are these towns within a half hour drive of the airport? Also, I've been looking at web sites for private rooms, and with my very limited German, I can't tell if the places will take you in for only one night. What kind of language should I be looking for to determine that?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

We lived in Rosstal for about 18 months, and went back for a visit last summer. It is a very nice village.

The main entertainment would be a walk around the village, a visit to the church and a beer at a local gasthaus. Our slides:

Rosstal is on the opposite side of Nürnberg from the airport but only takes 30 minutes to get there according to Mapquest. That depends on traffic, especially at rush hour.

Regards, Gary

If you would be interested in staying in a small brewery that serves food and has lodgings, take a look at www.braugasthoefe.com . They have quite a few throughout Germany.
