Guide books

Part of the long work-up to a trip abroad for me is being able to read up about the destination and plan all the sites/churches/restaurants I will visit (if there were 28 hours in each day).

I can't find a guidebook for Nuremberg.

I can't even find one for Franconia ~ just one about the beers of Franconia, which I'm sure is great, just not what I'm after.

Can anyone recommend any travel books? I know I can look online for info, believe me, I have, but I want a book I can carry round, read in the bath.

Thanks.

If you contact the tourist office which is reachable through www.nuernberg.de you can order their free tourist information packet to be sent to you.

I normally plan a trip using the Michelin Green Guide first with help from the Eyewitness guides for visual aids. Each of these books has about 6 pages on Nürnberg.

On trips to Germany for the last two years we also have been impressed with the quality and detail of information in locale travel guide brochures. We were especially impressed with the information we got from Regensburg. We visited Nürnberg but unfortunately did not checkout their local guides, as we had previous experience with the area.

Thankyou, both of you, I appreciate you taking the time.

I got my pkg from Nuremberg tourism today, and it's a big help.

I've just been surprised that there wasn't a Franconia guidbook, it seems such a great region. Maybe I should write one! (joke)
