Best places to watch the World Cup in Germany

Hi everyone,

TripAdvisor is looking for the best places to watch the World Cup this summer (for those of us who can't make it to Brazil to watch the action in person). Do you know of any great bars, restaurants or even outdoor venues in Berlin or elsewhere in Germany where fans will be able to get together to watch the games? If so, we'd love to see your suggestions and learn what makes these venues special.

Thanks!

Thanks, BlandineForberg. I figured that would be the case; we're just looking for places that stand out as special in some way.

In Frankfurt all matches of the German team will be shown on a giant 400 squaremeters screen at Commerzbank Arena, the homefield of Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt. Up to 30.000 visitors are expected for each game, Tickets are 8 EUR. commerzbank-arena.de/veranstaltungen/veranst…

Similarly, FSV Mainz 05 opens a stand in its stadium "Coface Arena" for a "Public Viewing" of the German matches plus the semifinals and the final. Capacity in front of a 90 squaremeters LED screen is limited to 5.000 (seats only). Fee: 4 EUR. http://www.coface-arena.de/coface-arena-news/article/mainzer-stadion-atmosphaere-statt-wohnzimmer-wm-in-brasilien/?tx_ttnews[backPid]=188&cHash=6c510d3a0bfc474e736715d4aca1bcaa

Football where football belongs - in the stadium!

Thanks, Oli-6. That's very cool! On an off-topic note, your post got me thinking, I'll bet it won't be long before they wire up the ball and all the players to record their motions and then transmit that data to stadiums around the world, where the game can simultaneously be "played" by holograms. Or maybe robots.

Hi,

for Munich:

here's the main page for public viewings in München for the WC games:

muenchen.de/veranstaltungen/public-viewing.h…

Unfortunately only in German...

München App (Android/iOS):

www.muenchen.de/meta/iphone-android-app.html

The app can give you a map view for public viewings that are closest to you.

And a few English links I was able to find:

Public Viewing 2014 FIFAWorld Cup

Olympic Park

www.olympiapark.de/en/home/

Löwenbräukeller beer garden

Augustinerkeller beer garden

As for Nürnberg:

At the airport they're showing all Germany games, as well as the opener and final:

http://www.airport-nuernberg.de/408554/WM

And a couple of lists from articles/newspapers:

(hope you can read German)

nordbayern.de/region/nuernberg/wm-fieber-in-…

mein-mitteilungsblatt.de/nuernberg/sport/fus…

Shouldn't be a problem to find a place to watch the game :-)

Have fun !!
