transport to and from hotel

hey guys we are coming to Munich in a couple of weeks for the first time and have had a look at how to get to and from transport to hotel but would like someone to be able to confirm I have things correct. There are 2 of us travelling

we arrive from Budapest on the bahn db train at munchen hbf. we are staying at holiday Inn munich city centre. catch S1 from munchen hbf towards munchen ost to munchen rosenheimer platz 4 stops. (any advice on ticket cost / where to buy appreciated).

We leave to go to Interlaken again from munchen hbf. This time I believe we catch the s8 from rosenheimer towards herrsching to munchen hbf for 4 stops.

any advice much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You can take any eastbound S-Bahn not just the S1. See S-Bahn and U-Bahn network map:

No extra ticket needed. This is covered by your train ticket from Budapest to Munich. You can travel on such a ticket "to Munich" to any train / S-Bahn station in central Munich.

(any advice on ticket cost / where to buy appreciated).
