Cheap new or second hand bicylces

Hi,

We are hiring a campervan in and our of Munich for a month, early mid September to mid October and would like to take bicycles with us. we don't want to do long distances on the bike, just to cycle around towns instead of using the campervan and to travel from camping grounds to rail etc. The rental people have advised us to buy bikes and then donate them to local charity shops. Does anyone have any ideas of where we could get cheap bikes (in Australia it would be somewhere like KMart) or of how to find second hand bikes. Any thrift stores or websites where you can get second hand goods. Hope someone can help with some suggestions.

munichs largest bike shop sells second hand bikes at their branches at Euro Industriepark / Circus Krone / München Pasing

radlbauer.de/blog_radlbauer/…

They also host some sort of sale of second hand bikes (seems like folks with a bike to sell can come and flog it privately) every Saturday at their Euro Industriepark branch, so could even be useful for when youre finished your journey.

Should there be nothing to suit second hand wise, then down the road from the Radlbauer at Euro industrie park theres a V-Mart (formerly wal mart! ) and Real megastore which sell bikes for cheap.

Radlbauer being a proper bike shop has better quality bikes at correspondingly higher prices.

Thank you Munich Wanderer. I have emailed radlbauer and they have advised they do not sell second hand bicycles. We only want basic cheap bikes as we will have to just give them away at the end of our holiday and all the bike shop websites show very expensive bikes. We will have to hope that VMart have some as cheap as KMart here ($80aud for a ladies bike, needs assembling though).

Ideally someone's old bike would be great, they can even have it back at the end and make an easy $100 per bike.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Even at Real bikes will cost 170 € or more. …real.de/Sport-und-Freizeit-Fahrradwelt/…

Praktikers' bikes are similarly priced to Real, but they regularly run 20% off everything deals, so if you time it right...... praktiker.de/ShowCategory.action…
