Need Advice on Train Tickets

I'm really confused as to what is the best type of train tickets to purchase for our trip to Munich. Here are the details of our trip. Family of 4 (including 19 and 17 year old) will be arriving to Munich from Paris via train on June 11. During our 3 1/2 day stay in Munich we would like to do a viist to Dauhau as well as day trips to Salzburg and Neuschwanstein. I realize that it will be a lot of train travel over our 3 1/2 days in Munich but these are things we really want to see. Can you advise on how I should purchase our train tickets from Paris to Munich? What type of ticket should I buy? Should I purchase ahead of time? What about the train travel once we get to Munich? Should I purchase ahead of time? Thanks for any advice.

Paris - Munich

Buy ahead of time.

DB timetable

Start: Paris Est

Destination: München Hbf

Munich - Dachau - Munich

Buy on spot. MVV partner day ticket "München XXL" (EUR 13,60 for all of you together)

day trips to Neuschwanstein and Salzburg

Buy on spot. Bayern Ticket for 4 persons (EUR 34,00) for each day.

Bayern Ticket covers only regional trains. Thus you cannot use the EuroCity or railjet trains to Salzburg. To Füssen there are anyway only regional trains. The buses from Füssen train station to Hohenschwangau (Neuschwanstein Castle) are covered by the Bayern Ticket. The buses in Salzburg however not.

A good idea is to reserve tickets for Neuschwanstein Castle in advance.
