Bmw party

Now planning to visit as a day trip from Munich.

How far from the garmish train satiation is the bmw party ?

Was planning to be I. Town god around 6-7 hours... Long enough for a good taste of what's going on.

Thanks

Hi StockportBreaker,

I'm not entirely sure where the BMW Bike Party will be; from what I've read, the bikes parade through the streets of town (and, yes, the streets are flooded by bikes).

If there is a central area for the Party, it would either be on the pedestrian path Am Kurpark or maybe at the base of the Hausberg. You can get to either very easily from the train station. You can walk to the Am Kurpark in about 10 minutes, or you can walk to the Hausberg in about 15 minutes.

If you go to the Hausberg, it will be quicker to go downstairs at the train station and follow the tunnel to the Zugspitzebahnhof -- but don't go to the Zugspitzebahnhof. As you emerge from the tunnel, just go down St. Martinstrasse and take a left at Klammstrasse or Alpspitzstrasse.

You can see it clearly if you look at google maps.

Hi again,

That sounds like it would be at the Hausberg. There's a huge, open area at the base of the mountain, and they often put up tents and exhibits there.

Let me know if it will be there or elsewhere.

Hi once more --

I just downloaded the program from bmwmotorcycles.com, and the map shows that it will be at the Hausberg.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

The cheapest option for your ticket is to use the Bavaria Ticket, which will include unlimited travel for the day (so it would cover your round-trip). It will cost you 23 Euro for the day. Here's the site:

bahn.com/i/…bavaria-ticket.shtml

It's not possible to reserve a seat using the Bavaria Ticket. Indeed, you are limited to using regional trains, and it's not possible to reserve a seat on a regional train. So, you can just hop onto a train when you're ready to go.

9. Re: Bmw party

Looking on the DB site there are trains prefixed RB, RE, and ICE.

Is the Bavaria ticket valid on all these services ? Or the RE and RN only ?

Thanks

Hi again,

The Bavaria Ticket is valid on the RB and RE trains (Regional Bahn and Regional Express) trains, but not on the ICE (Intercity Express, not a local train).

To make sure you know which trains to catch, you can check the box "Only local trains" when you pull up the schedule.

Have fun!
