Is it possible to get to Hammersbach from Frankfurt City by bus or train???
Welcome to TripAdvisor.
A combination of trains/buses. You can find timetables here:
There are a few ways to do this. You can take the train to Garmisch, then take the Eibsee bus to Grainau; it runs about once an hour, the trip will take about 20 minutes, and the bus will drop you right in Hammersbach. Alternately, you can take the train to Garmisch and then a taxi to Hammersbach -- this will probably be around 20 Euro.
When I was staying in a vacation apartment in Grainau a few years ago, my host offered to meet me at the Garmisch station, for free. You may want to ask your hosts if they could do this, and what it might cost.
swandav - Hammersbach is also, since the reforms of the 1970s, the name of a community in Hessen east of Hanau which consists of the villages Marköbel, Langen-Bergheim, Hirzbach and Baiersröder Hof. Since the question involves Frankfurt, it makes sense to assume it is about this Hammersbach. On the other hand, she chose the Garmisch forum...
luciana - before we continue, check which of them it is.Edited: 1:18 pm, April 02, 2011
Right! I'll be curious to see which it is.
RMV timetable (was already linked - but here again)
From: Frankfurt Hbf
Distance is approx. 50 km. With the Frankfurt taxi tariff (between 6am and 10pm) this will be approx. EUR 75,00.
Thanks so much!
