Local train travel in Bavaria, Germany

We will be traveling from Ulm to Lauingen. in October. What train line goes there? Where can I find a schedule and do we purchase tickets in advance online or at the station?

1. Re: Local train travel in Bavaria, Germany

DB timetable

Start: Ulm Hbf

Destination: Lauingen

Buying online in advance makes no sense in this case. You can buy the tickets for the same price on spot.

If this will be a day trip a Bayern Ticket will make sense. EUR 29 for 2-5 persons traveling together. Covers all regional trains in Bavaria and to/from Ulm Hbf (Ulm is in Baden-Württemberg - not in Bavaria). Bayern Ticket is valid

Mo-Fr: from 9am till 3am next day

Sa,Su: from midnight till 3am next day

Railway map Bavaria

All solid lines are covered by a Bayern Ticket. Also to the stops on gray lines (= outside of Bavaria).
