If you are going after 22 April then there will be an AirFrance Cityjet flight ,6 days a week from London City.

The other option is the train see http://www.bahn.de/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml

You could also look at flights to Cologne/Bonn or Dusseldorf Weeze and then connect by train

Paderborn is a local airport and doesn't have any long-haul direct flights.

You could fly into Munich and take a connecting flight from there to Paderborn.

Otherwise you could take the train from other airports, it takes approx. 2 hours to get there from Düsseldorf airport and 3.5 hours from Frankfurt.

Go to: www.bahn.com

From: DUS, FRA or any other airport

To: Paderborn Hbf

A one flight from London isn't longhaul! Munich is further from Paderborn than London is;-)

Dortmund (DTM) is the next close airport (after Paderborn itself).

Than Hannover (HAJ) and Düsseldorf (DUS). From Hannover Airport there are direct S-Bahn trains to Paderborn.

Cologne-Bonn (CGN) and Frankfurt (FRA) are further options.

When flying into Frankfurt check with your airline if it offers Rail&Fly tickets.

I only learned now that we're talking about London...so the flight from the City airport might be an option indeed.

But, matter of fact: Munich is closer to Paderborn than London.

As the crow flies: 613 from London to Paderborn,

and 446 km from Munich.

I would book it as the cheap seats will go! If you fly somewhere else and then take a train you will have to allow for poss delayed flight/luggage as the cheapest train tickets are fixed to a specific train time, miss it and lose your ticket.
