Accommodation help

I'm planning a girls weekend skiing in Chamonix. I'm trying to find accommodation for us as follows:

1) Close to ski lifts

2) Preferrably to be able to ski to hotel (don't know if this is possible in Chamonix??)

3) Close to apres bars

4) V clean - girls need decent bathrooms!!

5) Not ridiculously expensive

Has anyone anywhere they could recommend???

Try Hotel Montana in Argentiere.

6kms from Chamonix but close to Argentiere village which has 8 or so bars and restaurants.

100m from the main lifts in Argentiere.

Not too sure what ridiculously expensive means but this is a 3 star and you can expect to pay about 180euros per night 2 sharing.

Try www.chamonix.com go to accomodation.

Auberge du Manoir is a newly refurbished hotel which isn't ridiculously expensive and is tastefully decorated with beautiful bathrooms and superb halogen lights (great for doing make up!). There is also a nice bar area with an open fire for meeting up before the apres ski! http://www.auberge-du-manoir.com/

It's in the centre of Chamonix and very close to some green run slopes (Savoy and Planards). If you're after more difficult runs, you could walk up to the Brevent ski station from here or join the Chamonix Bus pick up point across the street to take you to the slopes. Bars and restaurants are close by (can I recommend Le Caveau which is in an old cellar next to the Chinese - gorgeous pizzas and others, Poco Loco sandwiches for a snack www.chamjedi.com/food/eat_at.asp?id=Poco_Loco Both restaurants are on Rue Docteur Paccard and for breakfast or evening meal you can't be Le Poele which is on Avenue de l'Aguille du Midi with some wooden decking outside - every omelette and crepe you could think of - Omlette Tartiflette and Omlette de la Poele are just fantastic).

If the hotel is too pricy, I've also stayed at the Le Chamonix (they do family rooms which work out at about £20 per person per night tops) but the bathrooms are no comparison to the Auberge du Manoir. You could try Hotel du Bois in Les Houches - it's not walking distance to Chamonix centre for the Apres ski but it has a sauna and pool. In Chamonix you can use your Hotel Guest Card for a cheaper entrance into the Richard Bozon Swimming pool and sauna. Hope this helps :0)
