A couple of good questions lets take the 2nd one first.

If you have a Vignette then you take the autoroute from Annecy this is the A41 and it takes you straight to the airport.

I do not know if you can purchase a vignette in the airport but you can at any border post.

When you are driving out of the French car hireyou go along a road with security fences on either side and through a tunnel. After the tunnel you come to a T Junction. Turn right and the border post is 100m away.

Sorry can I ask a question? I'll be driving from Paris to Chamonix to Switzerland. Obviously I'll first get the car from Paris. Is it better and cheaper to get a vignette and add winter tyres and return the car at Geneva (France side) after the entire trip,

OR

Drive from Paris to Geneva (France side) and drop it off, then hire another car at Geneva (Swiss side) which will include vignette and winter tyres already?

Thanks

Probably more convenient to keep the same car, the Swiss vignette is CHF40.

However, you may have a problem with getting winter tyres put on your car in France.

Keep car or switch? Do a dummy booking for each scenario to find out. Worth a bit of hassle to exchange cars to get the winter tires I would think. Give http://www.autoeurope.com a try for the dry runs...

The Swiss or French side is really confusing! Who can help me? We are flying into Geneva, but will stay in Evian(France) planning to do trips into Switzerland. Will it be better to rent from France side as we will return to Geneva from France and just buy a Swiss vignette?
