Hôtel Saint-Antoine (please help)

hi,

does anybody know anything about this hotel?

I am thinking of staying there at Christmas and would welcome any opinions as to its quality?

thanks

Hope this is not too late of a reply!

My wife and I stayed there last February (05) for 1 night (and may have conceived our son there!).

It was an acceptable accomodation for what we were looking for.

I guess it depends on what your needs are and what you are used to.

Keep in mind that this hotel is not in Chamonix itself but the neighboring village of Les Houches (a great village by the way, very quaint and quiet - seemed more genuine that glitzy Cham). We stayed at a friend's family's lodge and skied mainly at the Les Houches resort. The Chamonix resorts are very accessible via a 10 minute or so bus ride with a stop right outside of the hotel.

For the price (which was our main reason for staying there) we were very happy.

A good breakfast was included.

The room was small but adequate, the bed somewhat uncomfortable but not horrible.

The bathroom cramped.

The staff was very hospitable.

My wife speaks fluent french so not sure how they treat English only speakers ;)

Nice but modest accomodations.

If we were staying for more than 2 nights I would probably look elsewhere.

Hope you have as good of a time as we did.

It was our most active and tiring vacation but my favorite and most restful (if that isn't a contradiction).
