Day trip by taxi?

We will be on a cruise in November and don't really want a guided tour--would just like to visit a town on our own for 3-4 hours. No more than an hour drive one-way. We thought Cassis or Gordes might be nice from Marseilles. How much would a taxi cost and might we have trouble finding one to take us back?

Are there any other villages that would be an option? We've been to St Remy (loved it!) and Aix-en-Provence.

If you take the shuttle into Marseille and then visit the tourist information office you can pick up a free map there. On it you will find a walking tour of the old town which is very easy to follow. In most places it is marked on the pavement/sidewalk in red. It takes you right pass several main sites. Then just have a walk around the port. Otherwise the "petit train", a tourist train, has two routes, one around the old town and one up to Notre-Dame de la Garde (the huge church which overlooks Marseille). You can also get up to Notre-Dame de la Garde by bus from the port and is well worth a visit.
