Sim card?

Will we be able to buy a sim card for our unlocked phone that will work in both Marseilles and Paris? Is there a carrier that has better service than others? Are sim cards available at the airport? Thank you.

Yes and it's easy to do as long as your phone can operate on the 900/1800mHz frequency bands.

Any French SIM will work almost anywhere in France, or almost anywhere in the world where GSM service is available. Using it in France means you will obtain the lowest possible rates offered by the company. There are a lot from which to choose, I use Lebara which is sometimes available at the airports or if not at many of the Tabacs both in Paris and around the country.

The Relay chain of newsagent/ tobacconists sells SIM cards (a SIM card is "une puce" in French). I don't know about Paris, but they certainly have branches at Marseille airport and train station.
