Villefranche to Nice and Eze

We are a group of 4 adults whose ship docks in Villefranche at 10 AM in October.; it will be at least 11 AM before we can tender to the pier. We would like to visit Nice and Eze and need to be back onboard by 6 PM. Can anyone recommend an established tour operator or guide who can do this? The companies we have contacted have offered half-day tours but most of the time would be in the car, with little time to experience the towns.

You really don't need to pay for a tour. Get the train to Eze sur Mer, a 7 min trip, and then bus 83 to Eze village, 20 mins. From Eze get bus 82 or 112 to Nice and then bus 81 or 100 to Villefranche. I don't understand how on the tours most of the time can be in the car, as none of the place to place journeys takes more than 10 minutes or so. In October buses will not be full so it would be quite easy to do the circuit on your own at a total cost of around 6 euro each. Hundreds of thousands of people who speak no French use the transport system each year without enormous difficulty.

As LondonBon says.

From stepping off the tender boat, simply turn right to walk along the seafront and you'll be on the train platform in less than 10 minutes.

Our ship will dock at Villefranche. Can we go Monte Carlo, Eze, Nice and Can in 1 day? Is there a tourist center where we can buy train/bus tickets for the day?

You would be very pushed to do all 4 in a day.

Personally, I would follow advice above and first off get the train then bus to the hilltop village of Eze - it's much better than Monaco, which is a monstrous concrete jungle with little of interest except to say one's been there. But if you want to visit Monaco, just stay on the train past eze sur mer and get off at Monaco.

Then you could visit Nice which has a lovely old town, port area, sea front, and can then easily get a train or bus back to Villefrance which is well worth looking around.

With lunch, that'll take up your day.

Cannes is just over 30 mins away on a train, but if you've visited Eze, nice and Villefranche that I think would be more than enough in one day.

If you just want to tick places off and say you've been there, then it could - just - be done, but with some risk of missing the tender back. Better, surely, to visit fewer places and soak up the atmosphere, in my opinion.
