Sights near Vence

We have rented an apartment in Vence for a week in early May and we will have a car. We plan to spend a day or two visiting towns along the Riviera, but we also want to visit inland towns and sights. We've been to Grasse and will skip it this trip. We will go to St Paul-de-Vence. Can you please suggest some additional places to visit?

Here's a starter list: Don't miss the Matisse Chapel while you are in Vence. Tourrettes sur Loup is a lovely village that is a short distance from Vence, and St. Paul and the Gallerie Maeght is also nearby. Don't miss the viewing point at the back of Tourrettes. The sculpture terrace at the Picasso Museum in Antibes is one of my favorite spots in the Riviera, and there is market in Antibes on Thursdays. The weekend market in Cannes (in the harbor area) is something I've enjoyed. From my experience, the Antibes market is more clothing and accessories, but there are antique tables on the perimeters. The Cannes market is pretty much small antiques and jewelry, and you can dine in one of the restaurants that surround the park or in one of the beachfront restaurants along La Croisette. Nice has several museums and the flower market in Cours Salaya is something you won't want to miss.

It's actually the Fondation Maeght, across and uphill from St-Paul-de-Vence. The collection is primarily of 20th-century art, much of it sculpture displayed outdoors. It's a wonderful experience. We especially love the Miro eggs set in a shallow pool.

The Matisse Chapel is very special; be sure to check before going there to be sure the chapel is open and for what hours. Religious holidays can cause the chapel to be closed on days when seeing it is usually possible.

Other good spots: the perched village of Mougins (lots of art galleries), Valbonne (charming small town with a number of artists' shops), Mouans-Sartoux (not touristy at all; has a good modern-art museum in the château), and Haut-de-Cagne (art exhibits in the château there).

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I have, of course, read and read about the area, but it's difficult to make final selections. Your thoughts are very helpful.
