St. Tropez is a pain in the butt in the summertime and is pretty much dead in the winter. Little or nothing to do.

Your time would more wisely be spent in NIce or Antibes.

While what datthecoast says is true at least you may find that St Tropez displays some of its original charm as a colourful fishing village in winter without the champagne spraying excesses. A drive hugging the coast all the way including the Golden Corniche west of Cannes provides a uniquely scenic itinerary. Avoid the A8 motorway. You can also get there by train (with the same scenery)from Monaco to St Raphael and take a bus from outside the train station to St Tropez.

But it is also true that there is plenty to occupy you within a short radius from Monte Carlo without going as far as St Tropez and just as, or more, attractive.

Villefranche, Menton, Eze, St Paul de Vence, Antibe,s Cannes Nice and Ventimiglia (Italy) to name but a few.

The art gallery there is one of the best in France - L'Annonciade. At least in winter, you won't be sitting in the dreadful traffic that you would be in summer.
