Breakfast in Juan les Pins?

5 girls (women...) will be staying at Hotel Ambassadeur in JLP this week.

We would like to find some nice breakfast places outside the hotel, since we've heard the hotel breakfast is pricey and not that great. Does anyone have any nice cafés to recommend, that serve a nice breakfast? Plus if they have something healthier too, not only croissants, white bread and jam - but all suggestions appreciated. Me, I can handle croissants and cappuchino for breakfast for a few days...;-)

I go to Juan Les Pins regularly but stay an apartment and have breakfast there - not much help I know..but if you take a walk around the streets there appear to be lots of places where you can sit down and have croissants/coffee/orange juice etc. I would start my search on Avenue Docteur Dautheville..see its location on google maps at:

We really liked it, it was great for us.

I was a bit put out by the fact that when we booked via the internet, we were offered to book/reserve sunbeds at the beach. We booked rooms for a full week, and the price stated for sunbeds for this period seemed very reasonable, so we booked. It later turned out that the price was only for ONE day at the beach - but this was in no way communicated, not on the website and not in the confirmation. Someone else here at TA tipped us about this fact, so we came prepared - but still, I hope they have improved their booking system and website information, so that it is clear before booking the hotel, what the price per sunbed at their beach (or pool, you have to pay for sunbeds there, too) is, and that it is PER DAY. It is always better if you know.

Having said that, their little "beach club" was really nice, with good food and nice sunbeds and parasols, and service was great, so we ended up going there almost every day anyway, and paying the price. Make sure you book sunbeds in advance, or from one day to another, if you are going in high season.

The rooms were really nice, modern design and newly renovated. We had rooms on a high floor, overlooking the pool - they cost extra, but are SO worth it. On the other side of the hotel, you'll for a long time be overlooking a building site, they had just started building a huge building there. But we were not bothered by any noise on our side of the hotel. They were kept very clean and nice. Bathroom small but good enough, balcony also not huge, but nice furniture. Beds very comfortable.

The walk down to the "main street" and to the beach was not too long, and nice.

Staff at the bar were really nice, helping us with ice, glasses etc, so we could have champagne (from the supermarket) in the room. Staff at reception: Some were really nice (night staff), a few of the ones working daytime were not really very service minded.

We did not use the pool, and we did not take breakfast or dinner at the hotel, so cannot comment on those.

We have booked this hotel for our next trip, too (August), but since prices have increased substantially, we will be looking for another hotel instead.

Good luck!
