Walking time to public beaches/September climate/Dress code

Does anyone know roughly how long it would take to walk from Boulevard de Lorraine to the public beaches please? Also what would the average evening temperature be early to mid September and what dress code is appropriate for an evening meal in a mid-range restaurant? Many thanks in anticipation.

Where on boulevard de Lorraine are you starting from?

Average evening temperature is usually still around 18 to 20 C but it can dip and be breezy . Dress code is pretty much anything except beach wear - smartish casual is usually the norm, long shorts are OK for men. It's often still to hot for long trousers, t shirts OK .

Thankyou. We are staying at Hotel Kyriad Cannes Centre, bvd de Lorraine 24 so wanted to know how long it would take us to walk to the public beaches. Also which public beach is the best?

The Kyriad is on the beach side of the Voie Rapide. It will take about 5 minutes to walk straight to the Croisette seafront from there.

The nearest public beaches are at the ends of the Croisette so add another 5 minutes or so walking onto that.

The beaches at the Palais end of the Croisette (turn right) are more extensive, and there are more amenities close by; the beaches at the Port Canto end

(turn left) are smaller but often quieter.

We like both

Enjoy

Many thanks Soooz. Could you also recommend the best area for not too expensive evening meals?

There are restaurants all over Cannes offering varying cuisines and prices

.

The Croisette itself is best avoided if budget is limited, but pretty much anywhere else is usually OK

There are several reasonably priced restaurants in and around Place Lamy close to your hotel, and a few others on rue Pasteur and the eastern end of the rue d'Antibes .

The restaurant strip on rue d'Antibes/ rue Felix Faure has a mix of menus and prices as do the restaurants at the western end of rue Meynadier and up rue St Antoine which is the street leading up to Le Suquet the old town.

Plus restaurants alongside the old port and facing the Plages du Midi

So , basically everywhere :)) ...my advice would be just to wander about and check out the menus

Enjoy
