Parking

Be aware in cannes where you park

Look out for kerbs corners with yellow

These guys will tow you away and at 130 euros and grief of car pounds

Make sure you are parked correctly

They laugh at you when they take your money

1. Re: Parking

Doesn't the UK also use yellow lines to indicate parking restrictions, and tow away cars parked in the wrong place?

3. Re: Parking

They usually don't tow when not parked as an obstacle or security risk. Where was that exactly?

In cannes

One car length from kerb , my bumper apparently was just over the discoloured part of the yellow, which I disputed but waste of time

I still had to pay

And definitely not a hazard or obstruction

As they said at they compound, welcome to France we need the money ha ha

6. Re: Parking

Here's why we use public transportation rather than renting a car in the Cote d'Azur: long lines at the airport rental counter to find “we are out of automatic transmission cars;” difficult narrow roads; Summer traffic; distracting views; unfamiliar foreign road signs; tolls; getting lost; electronic speed traps; door dings; expensive/limited parking; lots of pedestrian only areas; parking tickets; driving after a couple glasses of wine; the rental return “we found a scratch” scam; and overall stress…

You're a minority. Most of the tourists on the Cote d'Azur arrive by car. It must work somehow...

8. Re: Parking

Yes, most tourist do. But that statistic is reflecting the high number of Europeans who are driving their own car and are more familiar with international road signs, etc. Much of the issue is the rental car companies.
