Antibes on rainy Summer days with 3 year old?

We are renting an appartement in Antibes next week (July). The weather forecast is not the best. We planned on staying at the beach every day, but what do we do if it rains? My 3 y old girl likes a bit of "action" and is not the type to stay indoors all day...Marineland sounds like a waste of money, other suggestions? We are willing to travel by train or bus. Nice town is on the visit list anyway (mom loves the city ;))

I would be quite surprised if there would really be some rain on the coast line. It would still be warm, at least.

There are not too many indoor activities available, but look at www.nicetourisme.com for the family travel guide. It includes all indoors activities, too.

Taking the train along the coast especially west may take you outside the (possibly) rainy area. You could try a day trip to Toulon, for instance. Not bad at all, a more authentic town and with great beaches accessible by a waterbus line (1 euro per head per direction) over the Toulon bay to the south in just 20 minutes, with very good quality waterbuses. Read more by googling "Toulon", "Plage les Sablettes la seyne sur mer", "lignes maritimes toulon". The coastal train ride from Antibes to Toulon is some 1h30 and the views are spectacular in many places.

rain is not currently forecast

france.meteofrance.com/france/meteo…

I would not take a 3 year old to Toulon for a day trip, rain or no rain= its too expensive with very little pay-off . The train fare is 21euros 60 one way per adult.

There are plenty of closer places to visit that are cheaper on the train

There are indoor play areas

BOOMILAND

144 chemin de la plaine

06250 Mougins

Téléphone : O4 92 99 28 97

FUN CITY

47, av. Maurice Chevalier

06150 Cannes la Bocca

Other suggestions- swimming pool, cinema, 10 pin bowling, , a huge variety of museums to suit all interests [most have special kids activities at the moment]

some of the larger fast food places have indoor play areas

meteo france is the only site worth looking at , that has a hope of being right and it is often wrong.

Foreign sites are a pointless waste of time

If it rains it will almost certainly hammer down in a summer storm and then finish quickly

There is a cinema in antibes but films in english are one or 2 per week on a tuesday evening

There are several cinemas in Nice that have films in english and french and LesArcades in cannes usually has a few films in English
