French Riviera

Trying to establish an itinerary that takes in Barcelona, Nice and surrounding area, Cinque Terre and finally Florence and Pisa over 2 weeks. As first timers to the French Riviera area how many days would you suggest we allow for this part of the trip? Want to include Nice, Cannes, Monaco and others that are recommended? Thanks

You are trying to cram a lot into a very short period of time. 4 or 5 days will allow you to see the highlights of the Cote d'Azur.

Agree with above. 5 cities/areas in 2 weeks, gives you 3 days max in each, not including travel days, then you end up with 2 days each. All you'll have time to do is check boxes off your list.

I would reconsider hopping three countries in two weeks, if I were you. As for your question, you should allocate three full days for the Riviera, IMO.

If you are really pushed you could do 'French Riviera' tourist hot spots in 3 days. E.g.

Day 1 :Nice

Day 2: . West of Nice St Paul de Vence / Cannes/ Antibes

Day 3.East of Nice: Eze/ Monaco/Villefranche.

Great trip. Packing in a lot- nothing wrong with that. May not be as relaxing as two weeks in one place, but you will see fabulous beauty.

How much time you should spend on the Riviera depends on how much you want to spend in the other places. If you give, you take.

If you want to see everything on the French Riviera you could easily spend 3 weeks. But who says you have to see everything.

PersonallyI like this kind of holiday because

(i) it's a"roadtrip"

(ii) fleeting impressions are often the best- it can intensify the pleasure derived from the hliday

(iii) you are checking out places so you can come back and enjoy them in a more leisurely way later.
