One evening in Futuroscope end August - 5pm entry

On our return car journey in August we are planning a one night stopover near Futuroscope, We're planning to buy 5pm entry tickets. Park is open until 22:45.

Questions:

1) Is it necessary to pre-book? Does it sell out? The cost for family of 5 is €92. Is that cheaper than walk-up rate?

2) Queues. Are we going to find long (hour plus) queues or are the evenings more relaxed and we'll be able to see a show and a few rides with 30 minute queues?

Thanks

Hi,

We went on Monday 27 August 2018. A few points to share:

1. For the evening entry you don't need to pre-book, there was no queue to enter at 5pm. €20 adult, €16 child 5-16.

2. Futuroscope is great for a one day visit, or as we did 5pm+, you can see most of it in one evening.

3. There were minimal queues inside, one or two were 20 minute wait, but that was more to do with show being programmed on the half hour.

4. The kids said that many of the shows were similar; you sit in a chair which moves while you're watching a 3D or 2D movie. Ground-breaking in the 1980's, not so now.

5. The show at the end is worth waiting for, but isn't itself a reason to visit. It's a nice end to the evening. The French love a show with water fountains put to music.

6. We stayed at Premier Classe (basic, clean enough) and walked to the park. But Futuroscope car park fee is only €3 after 5pm, €7 before,

7. We drove up from south of Bordeaux, got to Poitiers at 3pm, grabbed a McDonalds, checked in hotel, went to park. Took a snack in for tea, but plenty of restaurants inside Futuroscope.

8. We recommend this stop-over. From Poitiers we had only a 4 hour drive to Caen for the car ferry.

9. Also stopped at the Le Mans 24Hr Circuit for lunch break on next day, that was good too but didn't have time to view the museum.

Enjoy!
