B&B La Maision Bleue

2 Months ago, we spent a marvelous weekend at Giverny. We were delighted about our Bed and Breakfast. This “Maison bleue” or “Blue house” was Claude Monet’s property. His garderer lived there and kept Monet’s kitchen garden. Now it is full of hollyhock flowers in all kinds of colours.

Warmhearted hostess, charming room, confortable bathroom, nice breakfast and brilliant diner inclusive great Calvados from the farmer...

Monets gardens are splendid, the colours phenomenal. We both are fervent photographers and we hope to have the chance to return in the spring.

You can see pictures of our stay in Normandie at

Washington DC...

I just returned from France and stayed there one night. We had a delicious breakfast but ate dinner in town. The room was great: large, pretty and comfortable. The hostess was indeed warm and charming. I should add that she speaks little English so if you do not speak French, communication will be limited. But if staying in a genuine French home, while still very comfortable and convenient to Monet's gardens and the other sights of Giverny is what you are after, you will find none better. http://www.giverny.fr/LA-MAISON-BLEUE,31.html
