Eurostar trip Scotland to France

I was planning a September trip to Lille via eurostar (from Aberdeen, Scotland). Is a week too long to spend in Lille? Should we go anywhere else or perhaps do Paris and Lille? Any advice welcomed.

I spent 4 days in Lille over xmas 2005, and I must say that unless you have access to a car (and therefore the countryside) you will struggle to spend a week in Lille. If you hire a car you can visit the WWi battlefields in Belgium (Ypers, etc) which are only a spit away

Brussels is closer to Lille, and would provide a good counterpoint/balance. I found Lille more like Belgium than France anyway
