Does anybody know how much a taxi is likely to cost from Toulouse centre to Carcasonne airport?
Wouldn't taking the train be a lot easier? I have found tickets as low as 10E from Toulouse Matabiau to Carcassonne on the SNCF website. A shuttle runs directly from the Carcassonne train station to the airport.

Did you find out? If so who did you use?
Did you ever receive an answer about taxi Toulouse to Carcassone? Others are interested. Please post any additional information. One quote I received was for 325 Euro!!
I'm afraid I have no more information to post.
Taxis are pretty expensive here. I would really suggest using the train and then a taxi at the other end, or the shuttle bus. Use the voyage sncf website, you can set it to be in English.
I think it would be a very silly idea, it's quite far and the price would be probably easily over £250!! I'm from Toulouse and I would never consider getting a taxi. You're better off with the train, honestly!
I'll be arriving in Toulouse - mid September and will need to take the bus to the train station. Since I only speak minimal french - is the bus easy to find at the airport? Do I have to purchase my train tickets ahead of time? If so - is the prepurchase train ticket for a day (no time limit)?
For how to find the airport bus read this page:
The bus station in Toulouse is right next to the train station.
There are some local trains from Toulouse to Carcassonne that do not require reservation, but a a number of trains are compulsory reservation. You would advised to reserve ahead if you can if you are sure of your timetable.
All the long-distance trains I recently used in that area were full.
The current timetable is here
out with the dictionary - French timetables are very complicated!
I should clarify - the local trains are unreserved - just buy a ticket and go.
The long-distance trains that happen to run between the two cities are all 'compulsory reservation' and the reservation is for a specific train on a specific day.
If you miss your train you can, under certain circumstances, arrange for a ticket on the next available train but certain fares (like with airlines) are non-refundable and non-exchangable.
