Uzes for a week with no car... then where 4 an extra3 days

Hi I am staying in Uzes for a week and want to spend another 3 days exploring the area. Can anyone suggest another interesting place that I am able to get to by public transport. I will be flying back to London from Nimes.

If you want to spend 10 days exploring the area around Uzès, a car is almost essential. Driving in this area is not difficult.

You may take the B21 bus to Collias and explore the Gorges du Gardon.

Weather permitting you'll enjoy this rather long hike and a picnic with stunning views.

A fortnight too early for canoe rental,I guess.

Why not have a few days in Avignon. You can get there by bus from Uzes ( although they are not very frequent) and can get the train from Avignon back to Nimes then taxi to airport.

You don't need a car in a Uzes you can have bus day trips to Nimes and Avignon ( if you decide to go to Montpellier for your 3 days). You can also reach the Pont du Gard by bus but you will have no problem whiling away a week in Uzes, especially if you will be there in the summer.

Do make sure you not only visit Avignon but also spend some time in Nimes before you leave. Nimes is very pretty, interesting, and easy to walk around. The bus/train station in Nimes is central and easily accessible. Both the bus and train services are good but be aware that the Avignon TGV train station is either a long walk (approx 35 mins) or frequent bus service from Avignon. Just check the timetable at the bus stop in Avignon to make sure you don't miss the last bus if you are staying near the station.
