Train? Bus?

Hi,

I was wondering where I could get easily by train or bus from Montpellier.

We would like to visit the environment and a bit of Languedoc-Rousillon and the Provence.

We only travel by public transport.

What's feasible from there?

Are there also any field of lavender near Montpellier?

Here is the local bus website for the region

http://www.herault-transport.fr/index.php

The flat fare for all regional buses is €1.60.

The regional rail website is

ter-sncf.com/Regions/…Default.aspx

You can travel fairly easily along the coast from and to Montpellier but going inland is a bit more difficult as trains are very infrequent.

Finally, here is the website for the city tram and bus network. You will need these as some regional buses start from tram stations out in the suburbs.

Sorry I cannot help with Lavender fields.
