Montpellier or Nimes

Wonder if anyone can advise on which of above towns to choose as a meeting point for lunch for 2 Irish families holidaying in France end of June. Will probably spend an afternoon wandering around

Many thanks

If you are driving I would choose Montpellier. Nimes is undergoing massive amounts of road construction and driving around there can be a nightmare.

Montpellier roadworks will be finished by end April. Best way is to park at Odysseum and take the tram to the Comedie. You will then be in the heart of Montpellier with a good choice of restaurants. At €4.40 for parking (inc return tram tickets for all the car occupants) this is cheaper and easier than parking in the centre.

Meet by the Caroussel here : http://g.co/maps/jnpsd opposite the Comedie tram stop.
