über or taxi in Paris

I'm reading that taxi drivers can be dishonest. Is Über safer? Please advise asap, leaving in less that a week.

Most taxi drivers in Paris are fine. There is no reason to think that Uber provides anything better.

Thank you for your responses. I did read the link next to my post but felt it was a bit outdated

"can be dishonest" applies everywhere, probably in Grand Rapids

Just trying to be an informed and aware traveler. I prefer über in Grand Rapids because of the lower cost not because I feel unsafe in my local taxi's

where are you going? perhaps Roissybus or Le Bus Direct stop close by and could be a good alternative.

If you mean to get from airport to the city, taxi is better since you just go to the queue and there is a fixed rate.

I haven't taken a taxi or uber on this trip yet but I do prefer uber if it's late at night or raining and I don't feel like taking the metro or bus. I've often found it difficult to find a taxi in these situations and you can order an uber from inside the bar or restaurant where you are until it's about to arrive.

I use taxis almost every day to transport my husband to and from his medical treatments. We have used G7 and found their drivers to be efficient and honest. Uber is controversial in Paris, and I have not used the service, but I gather that it is ok, also.
