which arrival train station-Lyon or Bercy

We'll be taking a train from Lyon to Paris the day before our homebound plane leaves from Orly in the aftrernoon. Our plan is to stay overnite in a nice hotel and have dinner in Paris. We will have spend several days in Paris at the beginning of this trip, at the Madeleine Plaza Hotel. In previous Paris stays, we've located ourselves on the Left Bank. This end of trip hotel choice could afford us the opportunity to experience anoither neighborhood since we won't need to stay at an Orly airport hotel. We'd prefer a 3-4 star hotel. This is something like our 18th vacation in Paris; I speak French, so the objective is to have a last, enjoyable 24 hours where we could learn something new. We've considered leaving Lyon the morning of our flight from Orly but feel that's a risky plan. What do Paris experts suggest?

I think most people would suggest it is not wise to need a long-distance train to reach the airport on departure day, things can go quite wrong and cause you to miss your flight. Orly is quite close to Paris.

Are you asking about the stations (Lyon & Bercy)? Or wanting hotel ideas around there..? What mode of transportation do you prefer for your trip to Orly?

After posting my questions, whether arrival at the Gare de Lyon or the Gare de Bercy would put us closer to a neighborhood in PAris to explore and in which to stay over night, I decided that we will leave Lyon in the afternnon, arrive in Paris at either station, and go back to the Rive Gauche, familiar to us from previous trips, where we can enjoy places to eat and stay with ease, wander around a bit, and then head to Orly for our mid-afternoon flight back to the US.

That makes sense! A short overnight in a new area would probably not allow you to learn much about it anyway. Bercy and Lyon are not far apart either.

Gare de Lyon and Gare de Bercy are next to each other. The area around is fine.
