Then you can choose what you want to tour in Versailles, there are several types of admission tickets, the most commonly purchased is 18 €: …chateauversailles.fr/prepare-my-visit-/sing…
So the total is usually around 25 € per person.
Well, $325 certainly isn't even close to economical considering you can easily do it on your own for a small fraction of that.
It's really not necessary to go to Versailles with a tour group. If you are looking to gain additional knowledge about the chateau, I would suggest you take the private apartments tour which you can do through the link in #1 or purchase on site. The audio guide is sufficient for most people to tour the main rooms and the gardens and other buildings on the grounds are best explored on your own IMO.
Ditto to number 1.
If you are purchasing a museum pass it will get you into the the palace as well. If you go on a fountain day there is another charge for that a few euro per person. 325 is crazy.
Excellent tip sheet, travelnutty. Just what I was looking for. Thank you very much for posting the link.
travelnutty that is a great trip sheet..
Pokieman, cannot even imagine spending that sort of cash for a 1/2 day visit, do it on your own, its easier then you may think and alot more fun when not rushed.
Oh Joan, I agree. With some historical research in place beforehand, I am sure we will enjoy such a spectacular site, without the benefit of a tour guide. I like the idea of guided tours but in practice they frustrate me to end.Edited: 4:18 pm, August 09, 2013
