Capris in Paris (summer 2013)

Yes, I'm a tourist. But I don't want to look like a magnet for pickpocketers ... So can I wear capris in Paris during the summer months (late June/early July) and not look like a pickpocket magnet.

My last few trips to Paris were in the cold months so this just hasn't come up before now.

Both men and women wear capris in Paris when it is warranted by the temperature. Quite a few people feel that men should not succumb to this.

Some years back, one of our favorite waiters used to wear orange print capris.

I like the manpris,, an American male who wants to look Europeon c, an just wear those and instantly look exotic, I think I mostly noted the Italian male tourists wearing them and looking great ( I have voted the Italian males as best dressed nationality in Europe, beating out the French men too)

OP, yes wear capris.

Pickpockets are looking at our bags and pockets, they don't care what you are wearing and they will pick the pocket of an absent minded local just as quickly as they would a tourist..your dress blending in won't help a bit if you are not viligant and watch how you carry your stuff.

I wore capris in Paris one day last August and was not pickpocketed.

*Nobody* would think I was anything but a tourist.

How in the world would capris tag you as being a tourist when there are hordes of Parisian residents wearing them?

I love manpris! My spouse bought a pair in Scandinavia a few years ago, but he will only wear them when we are on summer holiday in Europe. He refuses to wear them in our tiny suburban US town. :(

I wore crops the whole week I was there last August. No problems whatsoever. There are so many tourists, it just does not matter.

Manpris eh? So Dwyane Wade was trying to be European when he wore them while he was in

Chicago playing for the Miami Heat against the Bulls?

He sure took a lot of flack for wearing them.

I would say wear what you want. Everyone will know you are a tourist anyway.
