Most economic airport transfer for family of 6

What would be the most economical way for a family of 6 to get to and from airport? I'm assuming taxi's take a maximum of 4? We arrive at CDG and leave via Orly.

TIA

It really depends on where you want to get to in Paris. RoissyBus if fine if you are staying near Opera, but maybe not if your hotel is somewhere else.

It is easy to get a minivan-taxi taking 6 or 7 passengers. Just ask the the gentleman directing taxis outside your terminal.

We have used shuttle inter 5 times and have had great service. I just checked out the website and it's 85 euros from CDG to Paris for 6 people and 100 euros from Paris to Orly. Ask and they may give you a slight discount on the return trip.

You only pay (in cash) at the end of the trip and your driver will be at the arrivals lounge at CDG waiting for you with a sign on your door.

I know some people don't like the shuttles, but this is a private car service, you do not share it with anyone else and you don't have to pay ahead of time. We will be using them again with our grandson in May.

Have a great trip,

The RER trains are quick and convenient if your destination is close to one of the stops on the line. Less convenient if you have to transfer to metro with luggage. A taxi will cost about the same as train tickets for 6p and drive you to your door.

With that many people the easiest and probably the cheapest way is to get a taxi to take you directly from the airport to where you are staying.

If your family consists of 6 adults it may not be immediately obvious that you are all together but if your family includes children you will most likely find that the person who allocates the taxis is aware that you will need a taxi-van and will already be looking for one as you approach the head of the queue. Many times we have been called ahead (even at train stations when there wasn't a person responsible for allocating the taxis other travellers have indicated that we should go ahead and take the larger taxi while they waited for a smaller taxi.) Sometimes it may be necessary to wait for a few minutes for a larger taxi to arrive.

When you leave you should prebook a taxi so that you know you will have one big enough rather than chance finding one near your hotel or apartment exactly when you need it.

There is a charge for luggage and extra people after the third person however as we always load our own luggage (once had a taxi driver in Sydney leave it on the side of the road so now we make sure to put it in ourselves) we have only once out of about 8 taxi trips in Paris been charged for luggage or the extra person.

I quite often recommend RER or Air France coach for 1-2 persons; but for 6 persons, a taxi, or the private car recommended by JoDen (which I've no personal personal experience with), wouldn't be much dearer and would be much more convenient than RER.
