Tickets

My family, 2 adults and 2 7 years old kids, will go to Paris for 2 and half days. We only use metro and bus in zone1 and zone 2.

Is there any good ticket for transportation? Any deal for the entran fees?

Thanks

your best bet is probably to buy carnet of 10 regular tickets -- 10 for 12.50 and just buy another carnet when you run out. the kids can get a carnet of half price tickets. unless you are doing an unusual amount of metro or bus travel, this is probably the cheapest.

be sure that you retain the tickets each time until exiting the station; there are big fines if you are spot checked and can't produce the validated ticket (then throw them away once you exit the system so they don't get mixed up with new tickets) this doesn't happen often -- we have been checked 4 times on the metro in 10 trips to Paris -- but it does happen and is expensive if you dn't have the tickets

you can also get Paris Visite passes for 3 days, but they are probably more expensive than just using carnet of tickets
