Do you mean an open public bus or perhaps the boat on the Seine?

The BATOBUS usually stops running right after New Year and doesn't start-up again until late March. Parts of the reason for this is that this is the coldest time of the year and a slow period for tourism in general, so ridership falls of significantly. It is also the time of year when the Seine rises (and occasionally floods the quais) making docking, embarking and disembarking passengers at various stops difficult or impossible. Though most of the Seine sight seeing cruise operatprs continue to run during this same period, there may be times when rises in the river height force them to cancel some daily service also---because of flooded quias and insufficient clearance under bridges.

I certainly wouldn't write-off the L'OPEN TOUR hop-on/hop-off bus tours, simply because a 'packege' with a BATOBUS option wasn't included. These hop-on/hop-off tour bus 'circuits' are a great way to see and get oriented to Paris. L'Open Tour offers the best coverage of the entire city, with four(4) inter-connected circuits.. You can simply purchase your tickest on ANY one of their buses when you board. There's no need to pre-book.

There is a public bus which runs just on Sundays called the "Batobus". It starts at gare de Lyon and wanders around past all the big tourist areas on the left bank to La Defense then back again on the right bank, wandering through most of the tourist sites ending at gare de Lyon. If you have a "carte orange' that will work, or just a reagular bus ticket. You can get off anywhere you wish and get back on it again to continue its sightseeing route...........need another ticket though. Is the boat called bateaubus and batobus?
