Amarante Qual Arc de Triomph - good hotel?

Trying to book a much needed weekend in Paris for romantic trip with husband as break from work and kids using air miles. They have offered us a 3 night stay at Amarante for £246 inc. Is this a good deal and is the hotel any good? This would be an anniversary trip so needs to be special. Is it in a good location? Any advice gratefully received. Thanks. Desperate mum of 2 noisy boys!!

There are reviews:

It's a bit far of center for a weekend trip, in my opinion.

If you're using air miles, why do you have to pay? Or can you use airmiles to fly over, and just reserve your own hotel? Are there any other hotels offered in this deal that we can advise on?

How much do you wish to pay for a room per night?

We have enough miles for the flight and part of the hotel costs. Maybe we would be better paying ourselves for the hotel and choosing somewhere nice. I used to work in conference production so am quite picky, but unfortunately can't afford the type of places I would love to stay in. We would need to be fairly central, small with bit of character if poss, don't really want to spend more than £100 per night less if poss, quirky b&b maybe? Having read the reviews on Amarante and seen internal photos, not that keen.

Thanks for your advice. We have gone with Le Relais du Marais as the airmiles lot offered us a good deal with our leftover airmiles (once paid for flights with them). It seemed to have mainly good reviews especially for the location. Any suggestions for cafes, restaurants? My sister suggested Le Loir dans La Thiere and Chez Paul. My boss suggested Chartier. I also wanted to go to a really nice Salon du Thea (not sure I've spelt that right!).

Thanks for any help you can give
