Taking children on a daytrip to Reims

Would it be possible to bring children on a tour at Celliers Ruinart?

would the cost be the same as that for adults? The children are 8years of age. Or might a different champagne house be more accommodating?

Champagne houses aren't the most interesting thing you could take a kid on, but there's no problem bringing them -- there are usually reduced prices for kids, as they won't be drinking Champagne, but well-behaved children are usually welcome at the houses.

It's a pity that you won't be visiting Epernay, because the Mercier tour is much more children friendly. They have a train in the cellars to take you round, and an interesting experience in the lift going down to the cellars.

No problem taking them though. My own girls have done cellar tours more times than they can remember, and they often took a notebook and pen to write down interesting facts.

Hope this helps you :-)

When we took the Mumm tour 2 weeks ago, there was an 8 or 9 year old girl in the group. She seemed very interested in the tour and asked some insightful questions that the tour guide couldn't even answer. I believe under the age of 16 the tours are free for kids.
