Driving from Mont-St-Michel to Dijon

Was hoping people could weigh in on this drive. Basically, we need to cover some ground to bridge the areas we will be visiting in France. Does anybody have any experience with a drive like this? A quick map search shows it's about 7 hours. Is that accurate? Figured on getting an early start, a possible stop in Orleans or the like to eat/refuel and getting into Dijon by late afternoon. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Obviously, we don't want to cut it too close with things like construction, traffic, etc. as possible unforseen delays. For what it's worth, we we be traveling in early October

@BurgundyGuide - to be honest, I think we would be leaning much more to the "shorter drive/quick pee break". We did not have anything particular in mind other than getting to Dijon. As much as I hate to waste a good chuck of a day highway driving, we really want to get from A to B to keep on schedule with the rest of the trip.
