My wife and I will be visiting Burgundy in late July and dining at a few Michelin star restaurants. Should I bring a sports jacket with me.

I would. Nick and I have eaten at a few Michelin starred restaurants and the prevailing feel is of luxury. It is nice to dress up to it, and lets face it, if you can't dress up then, when is a good time?

Nick travels with a navy blue blazer/sports coat anyway. He wears a long sleeved business type shirt, nice slacks and black shoes (which are actually his everyday walking shoes, not shiny business shoes). He packs a tie which he may or may not wear. I travel with a pair of lightweight black wool slacks, a glowing silk shirt and some pretty sandals and pretty but inexpensive jewellery. We are set for just about anywhere.

Though we did laugh in Hawaii when he wore the trusty blazer out to dinner and was gently teased. I don't think they have seen a jacket in that dining room for a long time.
