Short break in Dinard

My daughter and I went to Dinard for a few days at the end of June. Just wanted to share the fact the flight was perfect and SHORT, there was a taxi waiting at Dinard and it only cost 10Euro to get to Dinard. We stayed at the Hotel St Michel which was just a short walk out of the town centre.

The Proprietess does not speak ANY English and it was absolutely no problem - all achieved with my pigeon French and smiles and hand waving. She let us in at 0930 so we didn't have to carry our things around til midday.

The room was clean and perfectly presentable; not luxury but we weren't paying luxury prices!

The market on Tuesdays was wonderful and best of all the people were really friendly and the weather was glorious. A really great break.

So glad we didn't decide to stay in St Malo. We went over for a short trip and found it full of the worst of our fellow countrymen - loud mouthed and brash to say the least. Dinard seemed to avoid the grockles.

Really recommend Dinard - AND it has a casino!

Hi,

Please could you tell me how far away the coast from Dinard Airport.Looking to stay in either hotel, bed & breakfast or self-catering appartment close to the coast have a young family but do not wish to hire car. Is there lots to do in the local area without transport ?

Iam shocked about your comments on St Malo ie fellow countrymen, thats why I dont venture to Spain

Many thanks

Danny

Dinard Airport is slightly inland but Dinard itself is ON the coast. It has 3 absolutely beautiful beaches, loads of cafes and loads of restaurants.

The coastline is fun as you can walk round a headland which feels a bit adventurous as its rocky!

Lots of local families and there is a proper indoor fish market in the centre of Dinard if you go self catering.

Think you should have a great time.
